Lina Mayes is the great-great-granddaughter of Andrew Mayes
(1745 - 1799) and
Mary Rutherford (1745 - ?)
Andrew Mayes was a veteran of the Revolutionary War (S. Carolina, 1780-81). Mary Rutherford was the daughter of Thomas Rutherford (1707 - 1777) and Jean Mordah (1712 - 1789). Thomas and Jean, emigrants from Ireland, are the "progenitors of the Rutherfords of Paxtang." The Rutherfords are descendants of
Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland (1306 - 1329).
